Editorial policy
Honest Music Journal aims to make music easier to think about without pretending that every listening question has one answer. We write plainly, check factual claims and make our editorial choices visible.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, dates, terms and other factual details against suitable sources before publication. When a point is interpretation rather than a verifiable fact, we present it as a reading, not as settled truth. We correct material errors when they are brought to our attention and clarify the relevant article so readers can see what changed.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for the reader's interest and the subject's merit. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable view or the right to set our conclusions. We do not present an opinion as an independent assessment if a partner has shaped it.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and material made with a partner are clearly labelled where they appear. The label should make the relationship understandable before a reader engages with the material. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified as such, and they are not presented as documentary images.
